Soft and herbaceous delicacy with a richly sweet aroma

White tea is known to be one of the most delicate tea varieties because it is so minimally processed. White tea is harvested before the tea plant's leaves open fully, when the young buds are still covered by fine white hairs, hence the name “white” tea.

Silver Needles or Bai Hao Yin Zhen or usually just Yin Zhen is the Chinese type of white tea. Amongst white teas, this is the most expensive variety and the most prized, as only top buds (leaf shoots) of the camellia sinensis plant are used to produce the tea.

Jacob ★★★★★

The sweetness in this one really surprised me, almost honey-like without any bitterness. Steeping it at a lower temperature for about two minutes brought out that soft herbaceous note. Been drinking it every morning this week.

Brewed a cup this afternoon and the liquor is impossibly gentle, almost silky on the tongue with that soft herbaceous note carrying through to the finish. The sweetness builds as it cools, which I didn't expect, and even the second steep held its delicate character. Definitely my new go-to for quiet

First steep and the liquor is already that pale gold I love in a white tea, but the sweetness hits way earlier than I expected from the aroma alone. It’s genuinely soft on the palate with that herbaceous edge coming through clean at the finish, and the leaves hold up for a good three infusions befor
